A 47 year old volunteer firefighter injured his back during one of his practice runs. He was diagnosed with a herniated disc in the lumbar vertebra and had radiating pain running down his leg.  He could not stand for more than 5 minutes without collapsing due to the pain.  After the first acupuncture treatment at HolliBalance Well-being Center, the radiating pain had diminished and he could stand for more than 20 minutes at a time. He had also noticed that he did not need to take Ibuprofen for a whole week.  Following his second acupuncture session, the pain in his back, as well as the radiating sensation down his leg, were now both completely gone!  However, he did express some moderate pain in his elbow from working a lot on the computer. Dr. Song gave him a healing herbal patch, and since October 2007, the pain in his elbow has not come back!
