In China, Dr. Hu treated a 14 year old boy with a severe viral infection from overworking while preparing for a piano competition. The type of viral infection that he had had was not diagnosed, however he had high fevers and contracted epilepsy. Eventually he befell into a vegetative state. He was in this state for four months before Dr. Hu started acupuncture treatment every day. Within four days, he was able to swallow and did not need the G tube for feeding. After 2 months, the boy could speak, and within 8 months, he went back to school!
